The RAB Cup is the first step in an evaluation and selection process for players working towards competing with Team Alberta at the Canada Winter Games. Canada Winter Games are held every four years. Canada Winter Games - visit Ringette Alberta for more information. The 1991 Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island was the first time Ringette was played in the Games. After claiming gold, Alberta successfully defended their championship at the 1995 CWG hosted here in Alberta in Grande Prairie. The next trip to the Games found our athletes in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland for the 1999 CWG, where despite much effort were unable to attain hardware, finishing in fourth. Upcoming Games will be hosted in Whitehorse, Yukon in 2007, where Alberta intends to find their way back to the top.
