Provincial, National, International Ringette / Ringette Scholarships

Playing local Ringette is only the start for those athletes that want to continue down a competitive stream. The following links will provide you with information required to see where you can go and how to get there.

SPORT RINGETTE - The Alberta Winter Games are held every two years.

AGE GROUP
Age Division: 15 years of age or under as of December 31, 2005
Minimum Age: 12 years of age as of December 31, 2005

ZONE TEAM COMPOSITION
The maximum team size shall be:

18 competitors per zone
Number of females 18
Number of males 0
4 team staff per zone (see eligibility below)
Number of females: Minimum 1. Maximum 4
Number of males: No Minimum. Maximum 3

Who's invited - 1st year Junior players to 2nd year Belle players.

The RAB Cup is the first step in an evaluation and selection process for players working towards competing with Team Alberta at the Canada Winter Games. Canada Winter Games are held every four years.

The 1991 Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island was the first time Ringette was played in the Games. After claiming gold, Alberta successfully defended their championship at the 1995 CWG hosted here in Alberta in Grande Prairie. The next trip to the Games found our athletes in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland for the 1999 CWG, where despite much effort were unable to attain hardware, finishing in fourth.

Upcoming Games will be hosted in Whitehorse, Yukon in 2007, where Alberta intends to find their way back to the top.

Athlete Eligibility
To be eligible to compete in the 2007 Canada Winter Games, athletes must be 18 years of age or younger as of December 31, 2006

CWG Program
Athletes and coaches selected to represent Team Alberta at the Games will be selected from the pool of athletes participating in the RAB CUP.
