Ringette Tips - Hey girls, if you have a "Ringette Tip" (equipment, skills, etc.) send it in and we'll post it for ya.

How to pick a stick.

Written by: Jessica U. and Tracey. V

The stick is one of the most important pieces of equipment you need to play the game Ringette,
and picking one is not easy. Here are some helpful tips for selecting the right stick for you.

  • Both ends of the stick must be smooth, uncracked or splintered,
tape can not be on the playing end of the stick.
  • Only shafts and tips that are specifically manufactured
    may be used.
  • Length of the stick depends upon the height of the player.
Measure the stick while the player is standing on skates with
their arm extended at a 90 degree angle to the body. The
maximum length of the stick is from the ice to the height of the
    underarm.

There are manufactured sticks on the market that are specifically designed for the position you play.
The heavier sticks are commonly used for defense, and the light and flexible sticks are commonly
used for center and forward. You do not have you pick accordingly, you pick to what you see fit.
