RINGETTE ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP 2007
Purpose:
¨ To provide a scholarship of $500.00 annually.
¨ The scholarships were founded to assist in covering the cost of post-secondary education for ringette players, coaches or officials who have demonstrated a strong academic performance and a commitment to the sport of ringette through active participation. The scholarships were designed to encourage players, coaches and officials, to pursue post-secondary studies.
Eligibility:
¨ Application for a scholarship award may be made by:
1. Ringette players registered with the Lethbridge Ringette Association
2. Ringette NCCP certified coaches within the Lethbridge Ringette Association
3. Active on ice NOCP officials within the Lethbridge Ringette Association
Application:
¨ Application for the scholarship may be made by any registered player who is enrolled in a recognized post-secondary education institution. To be eligible, a completed written application must be received by June of each year into the Lethbridge Ringette Association office.
¨ The application must include a transcript of marks for the last completed year of education.
¨ The application must include a minimum of two letters of reference, from at least one individual within ringette and at least one from an individual outside of ringette.
Criteria:
¨ The applicant must complete, sign and submit the scholarship application by the above deadline.
¨ The applicant must provide evidence of their full-time enrollment or application for full-time enrollment in an educational institution in Canada that is a University, College or other educational institution providing courses at a post-secondary school level. Funds will not be dispersed until enrollment has been accepted by the educational institution.
¨ The applicant must have actively participated in ringette as a registered player, coach or official for a minimum of one year and be registered in the current and upcoming playing season. Funds will not be dispersed until proof of such registration is provided.
¨ The recipient of the scholarship is eligible to apply in subsequent years provided current documentation is submitted.
Selection:
¨ The Selection Committee will review all applications. Selection will be based on demonstrated excellence in ringette and academic achievement. The Selection Committee reserves that right to decline a scholarship if a suitable application is not received. Decisions of the Selection Committee are final.
